Storing Your Epsilon Battery for the Off-Season

Proper battery care is essential during the off-season. Following these steps will help prolong your battery's lifespan and ensure it's ready to power your adventures when you return. Here's a seven-step checklist to keep your battery safe and sound during storage.

‍Off-Season Storage Checklist for Your Epsilon Battery

1. Download the Be In Charge App:

Start by downloading Super B's Be In Charge app to monitor your battery's health. The app makes it easy to monitor your battery's status from your phone, even while it is in storage.

2. Update Your Software:

If prompted, update the latest software version via the Be In Charge App to stay compatible with the latest features. If you don’t receive a notification you can update the app by clicking the orange cloud shape in the home page at the top left corner.

3. Charge Your Battery to 100%:

We recommend charging your battery to 100% state of charge to rebalance the cells to ensure longer lifespan

4. Discharge 5%:

Discharge 5%, for long-term storage, as this is better for its health.

5. Set Battery Shutdown Level to 50%:

In the app, open the advanced settings tab and change the shutdown level to 50%. Also change the warning level to 55%.

6. Disconnect Your Battery:

Most campers have a universal red switch that will disconnect all appliances from your battery. This is the best solution to ensure there are no hidden consumers. If your camper or van doesn’t have one, remove terminals and accessory power for safekeeping. If that is not feasible, ensure that all devices (inverters, chargers, or loads) are turned off (not on standby).

7. Post-Winter Recharge:

After the storage period, recharge your battery to 100% before regular use to ensure the cells are rebalanced and reset the shutdown and warning value to your preferred values. We recommend setting your warning values at 25% and shutdown values at 20%.
