Mülheim/Ruhr (2014, May 6th). The season-opening of the SUPERBIKE*IDM was promising for team Langenscheidt Racing by Fast Bike Service.
Daniel Rauh (Head of the team) expanded its team this year with two new riders. In addition to Stefan Kerschbaumer, who was the overall third in the Supersport 600 class last year, the Dutchman Pepijn Bijsterbosch and the Swiss Michael Ghilardi will start also in the Supersport class this season.
In the first qualifying session Stefan was demoted, because he overtook a slower rider in the red phase. So he had to start this weekend not from fourth place, but from ninth start position into the race. With a bit luck and much enthusiasm he brought up the fourth and the fifth place.
Pepijn was demoted too in the first race, because his weight was a bit too less. He was twelfth in the first and eighth in the second race.
Newcomer Michael Ghilardi benefited from the penalty of his team partner and moved to P8. In the last race for this weekend he finished on P10.
Endclassement after the first SUPERBIKE*IDM-race:
Place 4/5 with 24 points - Stefan Kerschbaumer (same points like Lukas Trautmann)
Place 7/8 with 15 points - Pepijn Bijsterbosch and Michael Ghilardi
