Ligier wins SPEED EuroSeries manufacturer's title

Mohsin Rashid and Charlie Hollings’ best finish of the season in race 1 at Estoril – a fourth place for the Lanan Racing-prepared Ligier JS51 equipped with a Super B Battery as shown on the picture below – helped the French manufacturer to the inaugural SPEED EuroSeries Manufacturers’ crown.

Ligier, who have had a strong presence at SPEED races throughout the season both in terms of cars on track AND technical support in the paddock, scored points in the manufacturers’ table throughout the season with two chassis models – the JS49 and the newer JS51 model. Gilles Alegoët, Technical and Commercial Director from Ligier: “Ligier customers and teams have competed superbly in the SPEED EuroSeries this season and we’re delighted to win the manufacturers’ title – its down to a very strong relationship between ourselves and our customers. We have exciting plans for the 2012 season and plan to return to defend our crown.”

The 2012 SPEED EuroSeries calendar will again feature events of the highest level across Europe. SPEED organisers are also in discussion with the organisers of a Dubai event which could see the championship travel further afield in the new year.
