During the third round of the German Cross Country Championship Vogels had to retire while in leading position due to sickness.  

It rained hard the week before the race and the circuit was still quit muddy at some places. Sunday it remained dry the whole day, by the time the race started the track was dry again. Vogels started in third position and was able to take the lead in the fifth round, but had to withdraw from the race in lap seven feeling sick. 

Vogels shares shared second place in the GCC Championship.
Hans Vogels: ,,I'm very dissapointed about what happened today. Suddenly I was so nauseous in the second lap I was almost vomiting on the bike. I had to let go my first place, and in the next laps I tried to keep going but in the 6th lap I had to retire while vomitting severly. I want to forget about this weekend and prepare for the WEC in Rumania.''
Next race is the 6th round of the WEC in Buzau, Romania.
