The fourth round of the World Championship Enduro in Turkey, was a varying success for Hans Vogels. On Friday he generated a perfect 6th position in his E2 class, but on Saturday he had to give up due to technical problem. Hans had properly prepaired the specials, which were mostly covered with stones. The superspecial took him through a forest full of stones and fir needles which resulting in a slippery track.
Saturdays first special was much faster. In some stages Hans finished within the E2 class top tree positions and within the top ten of the scratch. In his E2 class Hans reached for a perfect 5th position on a certain point but then lost time in the following laps. Unfortunately Hans had to give up in the 7th stage because of technical problems and went home in big disappointment. Currently Hans holds a 10th position in the WRC.
Hans commented: “This weekend I was able to keep up my pace and times to maintain a top position. Overall my positions in the first laps of all stages were good but unfortunately during the 7th stage mechanical problems forced me to quit. Nevertheless I’m confident and looking forward to the next WEC round which will be held in Greece next weekend.”
Hans next competition will be his 5th for the WER and takes place in Kalampaka/Meteora, Griekenland.
