The Enduro GP of Sicily, Italy and the third round of the Enduro World Championship, came with a new series of great results for Team Honda-HM Zanardo. At the start of this race the team were more determined than ever to attack and achieve a good result.
In the E3 class, Mika Ahola, with HM CRE F500R-Honda, was again among the big players. However, he didn’t have it all his own way on Saturday, trailing Christophe Nambotin by a dozen seconds, finishing in second place. This second place did not sit too well with Ahola, who on Sunday left no chance for any of his opponents, securing a dominant victory. During the twelve special stages, Ahola scored the fastest time on ten occasions, closing the remaining two tests in second position to take the Day 2 victory.
Mika Ahola, Honda-HM Zanardo
"I'm really happy with my results. Sunday I changed the small adjustments to the suspension and I must say that I also enjoyed riding the bike. The important thing is to have gained important points in the standings because the championship is still very long and my opponents are all extremely dangerous”
Franco Mayr, Team Manager, Honda-HM Zanardo
"All the Team Honda-HM Zanardo, could not wait to get back on track after the races in Spain and Portugal. Ahola was once again superb. Even this weekend, once again, great satisfaction. I'm really pleased with the results obtained in this third round of the World championship. Now we will continue to work because the opponents are all motivated to beat us."
