It was the first round of the WEC in Spain this weekend and Super B rider Hans Vogels scored mixed results in this first race. Saturday he crashed quit hard, damaging the bike, on Sunday he was 5th in the E2 class.
In Ponts, Spain, the enduro started with the supertest on Fridaynight which had to be ridden in the dark. Vogels carried an extra light on his helmet and was 8th in the E2 class. Saturday Vogels continued his race setting good times without taking too many risks. Until the 3rd lap, when he hit a big roxk hidden under the grass which made him go over the handdelbars. The bike was damaged badly and Vogels decided to turn back to the parc fermé to repair the bike to make sure he could continue his race on Sunday. Although very dusty the second day Vogels was in the top 5 constantly which resulted in 5th place in his class and a 27th place scratch.
Vogels: The riding went really well this weekend. A shame about the crash, but I was lucky to get away unharmed. I don't think I ever crashed so hard. On Sunday I was a bit sore at the end of the race, but my times were still good. This gives me confidence for the next race in Portugal''
