The new Honda kit which will be put to use during Dakar 2011 is getting close to its completion. Within the next two weeks the first tests will be run with the complete kit. In July and August despite the holiday season the work continued which resulted in a lot of progress. The specifications are determined, all the prework has been done. All experiences from the last Dakars with the Honda CRF 450X have been put to good use to develop a reliable, easy to install en pricetechnicallycompetitive.

The front tank contains 16 liters, the reartank 19. The rear subframe  will no longer be necessary, whie the housing for the airfilter is integrated in the reartank. Laon Brans of Twin Air was closely involved in this. A new exhaust sytem of LeoVince gives another gain in power and a lower weight, and the complete construction has been modified.
The material of the fueltanks endured a special treatment, which gives a closer structure. This makes the tanks more heatresistant, and suitable for different kinds of gasolines. (which in South America can deviate from the European gasolines) Jos van Bergen Henegouw who has a lot of experience in the development of this kind of fueltanks was closely involved in the development.



“Plug and play” with Super B
The new kit has been designed in such a way that it's possible to convert a Honda Enduro (CRF450X) to a full rallybike fast and swiftly. (the kit fits all CRF 450 X models from 2005 to 2011)
Thanks to an adjusted electricity loom all navigationequipment can be connected very simple. A Super-B battery saves considerable weight and makes it possible to shorten the electricity loom. End of October the Team Honda Europe travels to Tunisia to put the kit through a serie of tests under rallyconditions. Except for Dakar the kit is off course perfect for smaller rally's. With for example the reartank you have enough fuel for any amateurrally.
