The weekend of May 22nd and 23rd the ‘Monte Carlo’ of Enduro in Lovere, Italy was held. Mika Ahola (SF-HON) won both days, by a lead of only 17 centimetres ahead of his biggest rival Ivan Cervantes! (ESP-KTM).
Three laps with a length of 50 kilometres had to be covered including an Xtreme test, motocross, enduro and supertest. It was a perfect weekend for the Finnish rider, winning the supertest on Friday evening, and winning several tests on Saturday and Sunday in the beautiful Lombardy mountains near Bergamo.
Dutchman Hans Vogels (who rides for the Husaberg super B Team) scored several top-10 results in the E2 class. In the Extreme test Vogels lost too much time, which caused him to drop several places in the ranking. Both days Vogels was 14th in E2, and is sharing 14th place overall together with Tom Sogar (UK-Suzuki) and Jordi Figueras (ESP – GasGas). Vogels is in good form and is closing the gap to the top ten riders. Next race for Vogels is the XCC Crosscountry in Marisfeld/Suhl in Germany.
A successful weekend for both riders using the Super B batteries!
