Josh Strang Proves Consistency Racing In GNCC

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Josh Strang continues his silver streak as he claimed his fourth consecutive 2nd place finish of the 2015 GNCC season.

Although temperatures were at a moderate 72 degrees in Union, SC, track conditions were extremely rough with some dry and dusty areas. Strang started in second behind points leader Kailub Russell. Midway through the first lap Strang closed the gap to 5 seconds from the leader. Strang made a mistake at the end of the first lap and tipped over losing some time. Strang remounted and charged ahead closing the gap up to 25 seconds. As the track got very rough the time gap stayed the same and became a race of being consistent and smart. As the race went on it became more about saving the bike and body. Strang rode a smart racing bringing it in with a second place finish.

“Got off to a good start today; got in behind Kailub early and was happy with the pace and where I was sitting. I had a crash lap one and lost a little time but overall the day went pretty well. Stayed close to Kailub all day so we are headed in the right direction. I’ll keep on working for that top step,” explained Strang.

Teammate Andrew DeLong returned to the GNCC series coming off of an injury and started out in 4th. Delong rode a solid race keeping it smart to preserve his body and get some seat time in preparation for next week's national enduro in Tennessee. Delong finished 7th just behind fellow Rockstar Energy Athlete and Husqvarna racer, Ryan Sipes whom finished 6th in the XC1 Pro class.
