Mülheim/Ruhr (2014, June 2nd); Stefan Kerschbaumer wins saturday´s race in Belgium.
Team Langenscheidt Racing by Fast Bike Service looks back on a successful race weekend in Belgium. With top-rider Stefan Kerschbaumer (#89), the team was able to retract its first win of the season. Kerschbaumer made clear that he wants to take the title home this year. After the first race was stopped, because of a red flag phase, he led the field confidently to the finish and came with a lead of 0.590 seconds at Marvin Fritz across the finish line. In round two, Stefan gave a head-to-head race with his two closest competitors Roman Stamm and Marvin Fritz. He lost the fight and became third. With these results, he catapulted himself straight to number three at the score table with a final score of 67 points.
It was a weekend of mixed emotions for Pepijn Bijsterbosch (#55). After a problem with the transmission in the free practice on Friday, Pepijn tried everything to connect up to the top. He found himself back in the midfield and fought most recently with guest rider Davy Thoonen for the seventh place in the second race. In the last lap Thoonen was a bit faster and Pepijn became eights. With 40 championship points he is currently on a sovereign fifth place. Michael Ghilardi (#90) collected further experience and important points in Zolder. Aching forearms made him the race weekend not easy as he had experienced in the second race. With a good start he made up some places, but in the last laps he lost the feeling for the brake and gas and slipped to 15th place. With 28 points and a good seventh place in the current list he can be proud of himself.
