Big Weekend Ahead For Team WD40 And Super B In Scotland

Team Wd-40 had an absolutely brilliant time last Saturday at the ‘Stauff Family Fun Day’ in Sheffield. Time to have fun and meet all the Staff and their families from Stauff UK, John Morris and his Team really put on an awesome day which we were glad to be part of. Everything from Rodeo Bull to Falconry flying, Our Superbike simulator game and oh yes a few beers and good food were had by all. A huge thank you to Stauff UK for inviting us to join in !

We are really looking forward to the next round of the ‘MCE British Superbike Championship’, as Knockhill in Scotland is the home round for both our Superstock riders Tarran Mackenzie and Ben Young. The Mackenzie family have played a huge part in the history and development of Knockhill over the years and Tarran’s Father Niall is proud of what the little Scottish Circuit has achieved. Playing a regular part in the activities of Knockhill with their Track Days Niall has played host to all 3 Team WD-40 riders at one time or another this season. A few weeks ago Ben Young got to reacquaint himself with his home circuit after spending the majority of his racing career in the US on one of Niall’s track day hire bikes before his little break back in Canada. last week saw Tarran, his brother Taylor and our Superbike rider Barry Burrell thrashing around for the day on Niall’s poor little 600’s completing enough laps to wear a grove around the mountain side circuit.

Barry Burrell: “I had such fun with Tarran and Taylor last week on the ZX6 road bikes, it got a little competitive out there but all huge smiles. After the efforts and results at the last round at Snetterton scoring my first points of 2014 I am really looking forward to build on that at Knockhill ”

Tarran Mackenzie said: “I was so disappointed when my engine broke in 2013 and I could not actually race at Knockhill, Team WD-40 took the championship lead away from me. This year I am with the Team and the little Kawasaki 600 and I are really getting on well, fingers crossed she has not let me down yet so I am looking forward to a great weekends racing “

Ben Young said: “I got to ride a few laps of Knockhill earlier in the Year thanks to Niall and really enjoyed the day. My family are all from just down the road and my Parents, Sister and Girlfriend are flying in from Canada. After our improvements at Snetterton and the disappointment of the crash in the race I am looking to make more improvements at my home track”

Brent Gladwin Team WD-40’s manager, said: “The boys have had a little fun at the circuit this year already and its going to be a big Family weekend for the Team and riders. We also have a huge number of VIP guests from Stauff UK’s Aberdeen office, so us Yorkshire lads are going to be out numbered. I know Tarran, Ben and Barry will do their best to make us proud and we are all looking forward to a fun weekend ”.
