MX: Nicholls and Coldenhoff sixth and seventh in Grand Prix of the Benelux

Jake Nicholls and Glenn Coldenhoff of the Super B supported Nestaan JM Racing Team finished in sixth and seventh position at round fourteen of the World MX2 Series in Lierop, Holland. Jake finished in fifth position in the first moto but got a lot of pain in his back during the second moto and crossed the finish line in ninth position.

Glenn Coldenhoff took a really good start in the first moto but during the first lap he crashed when he was riding in second position and injured his elbow. Glenn charged his way back through the field and finished the race in ninth position. In the second moto he came home in sixth position which gave him seventh position overall.

Glenn took a really good start in the qualifying heat and came out of the first lap in first position. Coldenhoff was riding a strong race and had a gap of more than ten seconds in the middle of the race. In the closing stages of the race Jeffrey Herlings, who crashed in the beginning of the race, started to close down the gap. In the final lap he passed Glenn and so Glenn finished the race in second position.

Jake Nicholls started the race in eight position but during the race he overtook some riders and crossed the finish line in fifth position.
The first moto started with a lot of bad luck for Glenn Coldenhoff. After a good start he crashed while he was riding in second position and injured his elbow. Glenn restarted the race in last position and had to come back through the field.

Glenn gave everything he had and passed one rider after another to finally finish the race in ninth position. Jake Nicholls took a decent start and came out of the first lap in seventh position. In the beginning of the race he worked himself back up to fifth position. He tried to close down the gap to Tommy Searle but didn’t managed to do so and had to be satisfied with fifth position in the first moto.

In the second moto Jake started the race around tenth position. In the beginning of the race he worked himself up to eight position but after several laps he got a lot of pain in his back. Jake had to lower the pace and changed places several times. Despite this he was riding around eight position for a long time. In the closing stages of the race he lost this position and finished the race in ninth position. Glenn Coldenhoff didn’t took a good start in the second moto and came out of the first lap in eleventh position. Glenn found his rhythm straight away and worked himself back up to sixth position. He couldn’t close down the gap to Arnaud Tonus and finished the race in sixth position.
Jake finished sixth overall and Glenn ended the day in seventh position. In the championship Jake has moved up to fourth position and Glenn still sits in eleventh position.

Magne Klingsheim was riding his first race in the UEM MX2 Series in Lierop. In the week prior to the race he had ridden the Nestaan JM Racing KTM for the first time so he didn’t knew what to expect. Magne did well in the motos and finished the races in seventeenth and eight position. Overall he finished in eleventh position.

Next weekend the penultimate round of the World Championship Series will be held in Faenza, Italy.
