MX: Nicholls and Coldenhoff inside of the top ten in Swedish Grand Prix

Super B riders Jake Nicholls and Glenn Coldenhoff of the Nestaan JM Racing Team both finished inside of the top ten at round nine of the World Championship Series in Uddevalla, Sweden. Nicholls finished in sixth and in fourth position in the motos and finished fourth overall while Glenn Coldenhoff ended the day in ninth position.

On Saturday Jake qualified himself in eight position for the races on Sunday. Despite a crash Glenn finished the race in twelfth position. With these results both riders were able to take a good gate pick in both motos on Sunday. Unfortunately the weather changed dramatically and it rained from time to time on Sunday morning. The track was really muddy before the first race so a good start was necessary.

Jake was riding a consistent race in the first moto. He took a good start and came out of the first lap in sixth position. Jake held on to this position for almost the complete race. He lost sixth position for a lap but because of a mechanical failure from another rider he moved up a position and finally finished the race in sixth position. Glenn started the race just outside of the top ten. He found his rhythm straight away and managed to work himself up to tenth position. He was riding in this position for several laps but than he made a small crash and dropped back to twelfth position. It didn’t took him long before he found his rhythm back and worked his way back up to ninth position. With these results he scored twelve world championship points.

The weather circumstances were a lot better in the second moto and the track was in a better shape than in the first moto. Jake took a really good start and came out of the first corner in second position. In the first lap he got passed by Tommy Searle and dropped back to third position. Jake was riding in third position for a few laps but than he got passed by Jeremy van Horebeek and dropped back to fourth position. Jake was riding a great race and managed to held on to fourth position till the chequered flag waved. Glenn started the race just outside of the top ten and worked his way up to eleventh position. Unfortunately he made a small crash and dropped back to fourteenth position. It didn’t took long before he had worked himself up to thirteenth position and in the closing stages of the race he gave everything he had and passed another rider to finally finish the race in twelfth position.

Jake finished fourth overall and Glenn ended the day in ninth position. After nine rounds Jake sits in sixth position in the championship and Glenn has moved up to thirteenth position in the standings. In two weeks time the series will continue in Kegums, Latvia.

Magne Klingsheim finished on the podium in round five of the European 125 series. Magne finished in sixth position in the first moto and came home in third position in the second moto. Overall he finished in third position and after five rounds he is in second position in the standings.
